Gordon where’s yer scruples?

(Or: Reading comments on Guido pays off at last!)

This excellent ditty was posted by one of Guido's "co-conspirators" Nick Drew as a suggestion to sing at the CCHQ Away Day - I am moved to suggest that the Scottish Lib Dems could adopt it as an unofficial anthem... ;-)

All together now:
To the tune of 'Donald, Where's Yer Troosers ?'

I’m from Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath
I look kinda deep but there’s nothing underneath
And they all shout out on Hampstead Heath
Hey Gordon where’s yer scruples?

Chorus
Let the wind blow high, let the wind blow low
I’ll bend with the wind where’er it blows,
And all the Lobby say - hello
Gordon, where’s yer scruples?

I’ve been Chancellor noo for many a year
But I’ve always slagged off Tony Blair
I brief against him withoot fear
And ye cannae do that with scruples!

(Chorus)

When I screwed up on the Benefits front
I didnae wish to look a ****
So I pushed Primarolo oot in front
For I havnae any scruples!

(Chorus)

Prime Minister I yurrn to be
Nuclear power? the top-up fee?
War in Iraq? they’re fine with me
I’ll support them without scruples!

(Chorus)

When I’m in Number 10 at last
Will I do what’s right for the wurrking class?
They can stick a Trident up their arse
If they think that I’ve got scruples!

(Chorus)
(Sadly it was posted sans writing credit - If Nick wants me to add one, or link to a blog, I will gladly do so, just post it in the comments.)

278.3% nerdier than Iain Dale

See?

I am nerdier than 87% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

(As if working out that percentage didn't prove it straight out!)

In my defence, being a masters graduate in mathematics pushes the score up a dozen points all on its own... whether you consider that a defence is up to you...

A Searching Question

Now, I'm not one of those people who's going to jump off the moral high board when someone mentions the word sex. However, I still feel that RadioTimes.com should re-think the Sponsored Links section of their search facility when an innocent search (honest, guv) can come back with
and, er
So what did I search for to get such tempting offers of female flesh and poultry? None other than Radio 4's Woman's Hour...

I'm off to alert the webmasters before too many people are amused offended....

Broadcasting Liberally

There's a good article on the Lib Dem policy towards the BBC over at Stephen Tall's gaff. You should go and read it.

And not just because I want you to read my comments. Oh no.
